Hello there!

My name is Graeme Archibald (same as the header - I'm consistent like that) and I am a screenwriter, which means I daydream more than I actually write.

When I do write, I like to tell stories that warm hearts with romance or evoke those feelings of discovering who you are, while keeping things funny.

Please check out my latest (okay, first produced credit - but who’s asking?) short film - Magic on Set - available on YouTube and on Air Canada’s in-flight entertainment (suck it, Sorkin!)

Unproduced loglines and more details on Magic on Set can be found in Projects. Read about my rising stardom in Press. Be sure to follow me at my various social links on TikTok, Instagram, and check out my IMDb.

I am currently seeking representation.

If you like what you see here, please feel free to reach out to me - contact information below! I’d love to chat about all things screenwriting, rom-coms, and why society peaked in 2007 (it did and I will die on this hill).

Graeme

The story itself was beautiful, as you will find out...his story is perfect. ... You get the warm fuzzies.
— Sarah Laturnus, senior manager of travel media relations with Ottawa Tourism

Presenting Magic on Set, my screenwriting debut, which premiered at the TIFF Lightbox in October 2025 (!!!)

Directed by Shawna Steele (An Ice Palace Romance) and starring the fantastic Melinda Shankar (Degrassi: The Next Generation), Chad Connell (Good Sam), Sarah McVie (Workin’ Moms) and Simba Yakibonge (No Regrets) with special appearances by JUNO-nominated singer and songwriter Jamie Fine, CTV News Anchor Stefan Keyes and content creator Katie Hession.

Very excited to see this wonderful story come to life, all thanks to the good folks at Ottawa Tourism. Short films as tourist promotion? I love it.

I've watched dozens of holiday movies shot in Ottawa over the years, The idea of a fish-out-of-water actress in Canada’s snowy capital had so much potential for a funny, romantic tale. When Ottawa Tourism sought pitches for a Ottawa-set holiday rom-com, I knew I had to go for it. They believed in my script, and now it's on Air Canada flights. Wild.

I hope you enjoy Magic on Set, and I hope to be able to share more heart-warming, hilarious stories with you in the future.
